Hi, I’m James. As an Associate Nutritionist (and personal trainer), I’m here to simplify your nutrition and diet approach so that you can get back to enjoying life while still achieving your goals. I help you to focus on the aspects of nutrition that have the biggest impact, so you can stress less and get back to doing the things you love.

James Kuhn is passionate about nutrition’s role in body composition, sports performance and health. His belief is that a healthy diet is inclusive rather than exclusive.

James believes that it’s essential for nutrition and fitness to compliment one’s life, rather than burden it. He advises balanced and flexible approaches to nutrition, centred around the individual’s lifestyle, needs and goals.

James is passionate about science and research and has more than six years of experience in the health industry. Combined with the experience of high-level competitive sport, James is able to provide applicable, evidenced-based advice for a range of health and fitness goals.

James can help you with:

James’ Qualifications:

Associate Nutritionist (ANutr) with the Nutrition Society of Australia (NSA).
Bachelor of Coaching Science from the University of Canberra.
Graduate Diploma in Human Nutrition from Deakin University.

James practices at The Healthy Eating Hub on Mondays and Fridays.

What’s your favourite food?

Hmmm cheesecake, fresh prawns, roast lamb or pork, smoked trout, a good burger… I could go on haha.

What’s your favourite cooking method?

Roasting. Roasted vegetables are the best.

Why did you become a nutritionist?

I find the human body fascinating and the role nutrition plays is one aspect that I particularly enjoy. I also suppose when I discovered that you can have your cake and eat it too haha. Meaning it’s possible to eat food you love, enjoy life to the fullest, be social and achieve your body composition goals. That you don’t have to necessarily sacrifice one for the other. So I enjoy trying to educate and teach people this.

What’s your superpower?

Time travel.

Your audacious goal?

To have the financial freedom and career flexibility to be able to work and travel around the world.

And lastly, 5 organisation tips that help you eat well.

  1. Put aside 10 mins or so on a Sunday (or whichever day suits) for weekly meal planning and what groceries will be needed.
  2. Always have a couple of packets of frozen vegetables in the freezer.
  3. Make an extra serving or two of dinner and have lunch prepped for the next day.
  4. Make nutrient dense options easily accessible.
  5. Having some steamed rice packets and tinned salmon/tuna at home/work along with point 2 is a super fast, nutritious meal.
