James Kuhn – A Nutritionist

Where you’re at right now.

Right now, you might be sitting at your worksite contemplating buying a greasy burger from the local take-away because the thought of eating chicken breast, brown rice and broccoli for the 8th time this week leaves you questioning this whole ‘abs’ thing.

You may be driving home wondering what to eat before training, or if you should eat at all. An article on the ‘net told you to avoid ‘carbs’ to get ‘ripped’ while another mentioned that [insert supplement] increases work capacity. And then there’s the big guy at the gym who told you to just eat protein!

Maybe you just received a txt from a mate inviting you for burgers and beers with friends and while you’d love to go catch up, you don’t want to undo all the hard work you’ve put in at the gym.

Or maybe you’re a busy father who’s just looking to make the most of this time of your life. Maybe you’re unsure of what and how much to eat in order to optimize health, keep up with the kids and still perform at the gym or on the field.

Nutrition can seem complicated. And often you may feel that your goals aren’t worth the price other areas of your life have to pay.

Don’t worry. I can help.

Hi, I’m James. As an Associate Nutritionist (and personal trainer), I’m here to simplify your nutrition and diet approach so that you can get back to enjoying life while still achieving your goals. With the amount of information around it’s easy to get bogged down in the minor details. I help you to focus on the aspects of nutrition that have the biggest impact, so you can stress less and get back to doing the things you love.

Imagine having the flexibility to eat a wide variety of foods that you enjoy when it suits you, improving your performance in the gym, on the field or even in the boardroom because you’re aware of your body’s needs. Or, discovering your abs without starving or feeling like a social recluse. You will discover freedom and balance. Balance so that it’s not one or the other, and freedom to tailor your nutrition to fit with your lifestyle, rather than take over it.

James’ philosophy:

Q&A with James!

What’s your favourite food?

Hmmm cheesecake, fresh prawns, roast lamb or pork, smoked trout, a good burger… I could go on haha.

What’s your favourite cooking method?

Roasting. Roasted vegetables are the best.

Why did you become a nutritionist?

I find the human body fascinating and the role nutrition plays is one aspect that I particularly enjoy. I also suppose when I discovered that you can have your cake and eat it too haha. Meaning it’s possible to eat food you love, enjoy life to the fullest, be social and achieve your body composition goals. That you don’t have to necessarily sacrifice one for the other. So I enjoy trying to educate and teach people this.

What’s your superpower?

Time travel.

Your audacious goal?

To have the financial freedom and career flexibility to be able to work and travel around the world.

And lastly, 5 organisation tips that help you eat well.

  1. Put aside 10 mins or so on a Sunday (or whichever day suits) for weekly meal planning and what groceries will be needed.
  2. Always have a couple of packets of frozen vegetables in the freezer.
  3. Make an extra serving or two of dinner and have lunch prepped for the next day.
  4. Make nutrient dense options easily accessible.
  5. Having some steamed rice packets and tinned salmon/tuna at home/work along with point 2 is a super fast, nutritious meal.

Our Healthy Eating Solutions

Meet with a dietitian or nutritionist to get practical solutions to address the 3 main barriers to healthy eating in Australia:

  • Lack of time – we can show you how to get organised and eat well, despite a busy lifestyle
  • Lack of money – learn about healthy eating on a tight budget
  • Lack of kitchen skills – get inspired and learn easy cooking techniques with our kitchen consultation program

The Healthy Eating Hub offers individualised programs to help you build healthy eating habits. We want you to achieve your health and fitness goals and maintain them long term as well.

Our Healthy Eating Philosophy

And secondly, a passion for teaching people enough about healthy eating that they don’t need us anymore. We’ve educated and empowered them enough to feed themselves well for the long term.

We take a whole foods approach with all of our advice and believe that overall diet quality, through healthy food choices, can positively influence health and well-being in individuals from all walks of life. Our brand and services is represented by these three words:

#simple #fresh #balanced
